Open Ears exists to support anyone affected by hearing loss through encouragement, information, Christian teaching, and fellowship. Hearing loss is an unseen disability, often making it hard for individuals to feel seen, heard, and understood. At Open Ears, we “get it,” and we’re passionate about ensuring everyone in the wider Christian community feels valued and empowered to reach their full potential in Jesus Christ.
To continue and expand this vital work, we’re looking for new Trustees to join our dedicated team.
We particularly encourage applications from ethnic minority backgrounds and men, as we are committed to building a diverse and balanced team.
Skills and Experience We’re Looking For:
Financial Planning and Accounting: An understanding of budgeting and financial oversight.
Strategy and Goal Setting: Experience in shaping long-term visions and actionable plans.
Social Media Expertise: Knowledge of platforms and how to grow our online presence.
Website Management: Skills to oversee updates and improve our digital outreach.
If you’re passionate about making a difference in the lives of people with hearing loss and have any of the skills we need to help steer our ministry forward, we’d love to hear from you!
Open Ears offers a range of support and advice both to individuals facing the challenges of living with impaired hearing and to friends, families, and supporters of people with hearing loss. Our support includes friendship, pastoral care, prayer, practical advice, opportunities to attend events, training, information on hearing loss, resources, and links to useful websites.
Open Ears encourages all who are isolated by hearing loss to fulfil their potential and find purpose and belonging. United by our shared experience of hearing loss, you do not need to be a person of faith to be welcomed and included at Open Ears, however, as an ecumenical Christian charity, we want to see people grow in their Christian lives, feel confident to take part in their local church and to have real fellowship with others in a similar position.
At the heart of Open Ears is a love for God and for people, leading to a commitment to prayer. A confidential network of prayer support is available from the Open Ears Team.
