As the Finance Director, you will manage the efficient and effective running of the finances and lead on the strategic development of One By One’s financial planning providing responsive reporting and adaptive forecasting to the CEO, the Executive team and the charity’s Board of Trustees. You will be an experienced financial professional, self-motivated and passionate about your work. You are proactive and willing to work and communicate well with others to achieve targets.
To be successful in this role, you will:
* Have a relevant financial qualification (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA Level)
Have several years of experience at senior/board level. (Preferably with experience in the international not-for-profit sector).
Be conversant in preparing and presenting apposite financial and management accounts, reports and data at both a detailed and high level.
Be familiar in working statutory agencies. e.g. Charity Commission, H M Revenue & Customs (and potentially, overseas equivalent authorities)
Have significant experience in financial leadership including evaluating and improving organisational performance, planning, implementing and managing in an organisation or business unit of similar size and complexity ideally in a growth context.
Have a good grasp of key charity accounting and database software; principally Xero, Quickbooks, electronic/online banking, Microsoft Office, especially Excel at advanced level.
Be prepared to get involved in the detail of setting, managing and monitoring multiple and complex budgets, as well as the ability to ensure operational excellence. You will possess strong strategic planning skills - knowing how to work with consolidated accounts internationally.
Ability to translate financial concepts to all levels in the organisation – including non-finance employees
Location: Remote
Work pattern: 8-10 hours per week, Mon-Fri
We offer flexible working, you will work remotely and oversee One By One’s bookkeeper.
Salary range: £40,000-£60,000 pro-rata (depending on experience and expertise).
